(i) Financial Accounting and Inventory Application : KALCULATE. This product is the only Linux based drop in replacement for Tally, Ex and other accounting solutions. Kalculate is certified by IBM & INTEL and is available all across south-east Asia and Middle-East. Uses industrial strength RDBMS PostgreSQL, unlike others which use week or no database engines. (ii) OpenLX Linux: India's Fist Enterprise Grade GPL Linux OS Distributionw as launched by us in Feb 2005 at Linux Asia 2005.
(iii) Hospital Information System : based on Care2X. This application is being customized for Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Tehnology. We are also enhancing the interfaces and adding functionalities specifically required by the Hospital.
(iv) Customised software development, Web based application development, hosting and other Internet related services.
(v) Migration & Support services : Helps migration to Linux. Has recently migrated Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology to Linux.
(vi) Industry-Education Interface : The company has setup a software lab in the Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology for training of students and creating a technology center to help the industry.We believe in Linux

As a result, we have a number of happy and satisfied clients, who never have had to call us for a failure. The simple reason of which is the fact that LINUX does not crash, it does not become obsolete, it is not affected by viruses, it doesn't need upgrades just for the reason of increasing the bank-balance of the supplier. 1. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING :
KALCULATE is a Financial Accounting Software. A packaged out-of-the-box solution for the widest possible range of users (satisfying the range, right from a small shop-keeper or single-person-business, upto a LAN/WAN connected enterprise that could be needing Accounting solution across the enterprise / organizations).
KALCULATE works, intentionally, only on LINUX and has established itself in the market as the FIRST (& right now the only one) such package from Asia-Pacific. So, popularly, KALCULATE is known as THE FIRST FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE PACKAGE ON LINUX.
KALCULATE is available across India, Middle-east through a chain of Distributors and Dealers, and is being bundled with LINUX PCs of eSYS and LG, with many more to follow soon.
2. HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (H. I. S.) based on Care2X, IIPL is developing/customising a H. I. S. solution and the project is underway. The implementation is expected to begin in a major Hospital of Delhi.
The H. I. S. solution is also being discussed with a few hospitals.
The H. I. S. solution has great potential and can, in fact, be developed to the extent of being used by the largest of Hospitals with multi-specialty facilities.
Being web-based, its reach in terms of connectivity with Hospitals and Consultants across the globe can make it the tool for connecting the remotely located Doctors, Para-medics, small hospitals with far-located Super-specialty hospitals, thus providing the best Health-care facilities to people in remote areas, without costing them the sky and without people always having to travel.
We later plan to enhance the functions available with the HIS and provide interfaces to smartcards, fingerprint capture, credit/debit cards and other non-medical services.
3. INDEPENDENT SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, WEB-SITE DEVELOPMENT & HOSTING, MIGRATIONS, INSTALLATION-MAINTENANCE, SUPPORT, TRAINING & CONSULTING SERVICES : Apart from the 2 Software Development projects, IIPL is also involved in the above mentioned activities.Recently, we have migrated an ENGINEERING COLLEGE to LINUX, building a state-of-the-art Laboratory with 200+ Computers on LINUX and 20 SERVERS on LINIUX, building an A-class ISP and A-class Hosting setup apart from Application development Labs.All these activities have given a big jump to the visibility of IIPL and we have invited to all major Conferences and shows by the organisers to share our experience and views on LINUX and its developments. IIPL is actively engaged with GOI to work out the possibilities of building a Nation-wide support structure to provide Services-support to the various e-Government initiatives of NIC (National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India). An advanced discussion is underway with IBM to build a Nation-wide support structure in which IIPL has been asked to take a leading role in finalising the potential partners that will be part of this network.

Based on the positive experience of setting-up the LINUX environment, the management of the M.A.I.T., Delhi has setup a Software Development Lab at their premises in collaboration with us for development of Softwares for industrial/commercial use and live project training of students.

IIPL is being run by a core team headed by Sudhir Gandotra. Sudhir Gandotra has business experience of two decades and is in IT business since 1992. He and D. N. Rai started the company as Marketing & Service Distributors of premier industrial products and worked with over 600 clients.
By 1993-94, we had diversified the company into IT business and soon the company was involved in multiple levels of Computer related activities, viz.: Genuine Intel Dealer for INTEL CPUs and Mother-boards, Computer Assembly and Maintenance Contracts, Dealership of UPS and various other Computer Peripherals, Software Development & Consultancy.
Soon, LINUX came on the way and the company shifted to using LINUX from the OS/2 platform that was being used by it till then.
LINUX opened new possibilities and our vision of 'LINUX getting to be the main-stream OS (Operating system) in future' made us take the decision to start developing expertise on this new platform. Then the Internet became popularily used and thanks to the expertise developed on LINUX, soon the company was developing web-sites and hosting them on LINUX based servers. We were providing consultancy services to others to migrate to LINUX and developing small but critical applications on LINUX for maintaining the clients' websites and portals.
A separate Proprietorship company 'M/s. COMMUNICATORS' was formed and today we have the experience of hosting more than 2000 websites, among them, prestigious sites of Govt. of India (Ministry of Home Affairs) - www.censusindia.net, and www.censusindiamaps.net.
We also own (develop, maintain, host and promote) the most prestigious site on Indian Performing Arts - www.artindia.net .
All this helped the company develop expertise and and a special view on LINUX, which has finally resulted into the development of the current product "KALCULATE" - a product that has the possibility of changing the way people use IT for their business. In the year 2000, we did a survey of 3000 users across the industry (Corporates, small companies, Individuals, Govt. users, Institutions etc.) to find the acceptability and perception about LINUX so as to accordingly develop the next phase of business activities into the field of LINUX. This survey proved to be very useful and apart from many other benefits, it proved the thinking of Sudhir about LINUX becoming the main-stream Operating System in near future.The survey resulted in interesting conclusions:
*LINUX would be acceptable to people due to its benefits of No-Virus, Stability, Security, Low-cost;
*LINUX would be acceptable if it develops a stable GUI (Graphical User Interface);
*LINUX would be acceptable if it has the basic applications for the User on Desktop.
Out of the required application in this segment, Accounting Package was missing while the rest were either available or being developed around the globe already;
We took the conclusions of the survey very seriously and after further discussions and market-feedback, we started the project KALCULATE.
Our Vision proved right. Looking at the Global initiative of IBM on LINUX, when we informed IBM about our ongoing project, they responded very positively and offered us 'testing and certification of KALCULATE on their Hardware platforms'.
When the product was ready, they offered us its formal launch from their prestigious International-level conferences. Accordingly, KALCULATE was launched from IBM's prestigious platform in August 2002 in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, where we received excellent response from over 1000 participants at these locations.It is very interesting to note that just when we launched KALCULATE, various OEMs started announcing their plans of launching LINUX-PCs. Also the strong wave of migration to LINUX started appearing in the industry worldwide including India.Industry giants like HP, SUN, SGI, COMPAQ (now merged with HP), ORACLE, DELL and many others announced their shift towards LINUX.
As a result of this prestigious launch and our promotion campaigns, we had good response. This resulted in the appointment of initial Channel-partners in different parts of India and also the responses of various OEMs (IBM, HP, ACER, HCL, WIPRO, SAMSUNG, LG, PCS, ZENITH, VINTRON, BPL, eSYS, PRIYA) were very positive. We have many channel partners all over the country and are in touch with many more prospective Channel-Partners across India.
We also have active and very positive inquiries from Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, China, Dubai, Kuwait, New-Zealand, Australia, US, UK, Mauritius, etc. which are being followed-up.
They all accepted the idea of "KALCULATE completing the Desktop for the user on LINUX platform" and saw interesting business possibilities in it. Today, all of them have already tested/evaluated KALCULATE and the basic negotiations have taken place and offers have been accordingly submitted to them. LG has already bundled KALCULATE in the first phase of their Launch of Linux-PC.
We have very positive response from various companies and institutions, who are evaluating KALCULATE for their planned migration to LINUX.
